Job Description
We're Amethyst Heights, a small, family-run business in Vista, CA (North County San Diego). We currently run three guest spaces (Hearth, Haven, and Oasis) at 1003 La Rueda Drive, and we're growing. Alongside hosting guests, we also take on broader construction projects, so this role is a mix of property work and bigger builds. We're looking for a skilled construction worker to join our team. This is hands-on work for someone with real construction experience. You'll be building, repairing, and improving spaces that guests actually live in, plus taking on larger construction projects beyond the guest spaces. Quality and craftsmanship matter to us, and so does showing up and working hard. You'll work alongside our existing builder on multi-day projects and have plenty of independent work too. What you'll do General construction: framing, drywall, painting, trim, flooring, basic electrical and plumbing fixes Routine property maintenance and occasional handyman work between guest stays Light landscaping and outdoor upkeep Larger improvement projects (new builds, renovations, deck and patio work) Coordinate on multi-day projects with the team Maintain a clean, organized worksite Communicate proactively about timelines and material needs What we're looking for Real construction experience (multi-year strongly preferred) Comfortable across multiple trades (framing, finish work, light MEP repairs) Own basic hand and power tools Reliable transportation to Vista, CA Strong work ethic, good communication, ability to work independently and collaboratively Eligible to work in the U.S. Nice to have Familiarity with short-term rental properties (Airbnb-style turnover work) Landscaping or hardscaping experience Compensation and employment $22 - $27 per hour depending on experience Full-time hours 1099 contractor to start, with a path to W-2 employment for the right person Steady year-round work, no winter slowdown Why join us Small, growing operation where your work directly improves spaces guests stay in No corporate runaround; decisions get made fast Work alongside an experienced builder Real chance to grow with the company as we expand
