Job Description
Job Summary:
Performs routine maintenance of Town buildings, parks, and public spaces, including landscaping, facility upkeep, and event support with Building and Grounds. This is a seasonal outdoor position with training provided. Essential Functions for 18+ years old: May operate a variety of equipment to assist facilitate the maintenance of buildings and grounds such as lawn mowers, weed trimmers and edgers, etc. Requires the use of a variety of hand tools, and/or small power equipment, such as shovels, rakes, electric drills, sanders, etc. Maintain public grounds and facilities by planting, weeding, pruning, raking, mowing, picking up litter, sweeping, shoveling and general landscape maintenance. Load and unload supplies which may include chemical fertilizers, dirt, flowers, and equipment needed to complete tasks. Assist with set-up and breakdown of equipment for special events, and facility maintenance as needed Other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Functions for Minors under 18 years old, but 16+ years old: Work with hand tools such as shovels and rakes to facilitate the maintenance of buildings and grounds, and no use of powered tools or equipment. Maintain public grounds and facilities by planting, weeding, pruning, raking, mowing, picking up litter, sweeping, shoveling and general landscape maintenance. Load and unload supplies which may include chemical fertilizers, dirt, flowers, and equipment needed to complete tasks. Assist with maintenance of public facilities for parks, cleaning, securing and monitoring equipment and facilities. Assist with set-up and breakdown of equipment for special events, and other areas of special events as needed. Assist with maintenance of buildings, parks, landscaping and playgrounds, including mowing, weed trimming, trash collection, and sprinkler system maintenance. Repair, install, and/or replace items as necessary, including irrigation systems, trees, benches / tables, signs, playground equipment, fencing, etc. Perform exterior maintenance duties for the parks, including mowing, aerating, trimming, raking leaves and clearing debris, planting and pruning shrubs, bushes and plants, etc. Secure, clean, and care for all basic tools and equipment needed for job assignments. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as appropriate and as needed; or notify the appropriate Town of Eagle staff. Other job-related duties as assigned.Core Competencies:

Full-time Seasonal Approximately 4-6 months April through August or October, (start and end dates are flexible) 40 hours weekly 9-hour days Monday- Thursday 7:00 am
- 4:30 pm With 4 hours on Friday's 7:00 am
- 11:00 am.
PreHire Requirements:
No experience required will train the right candidate. Maintenance, landscaping, or construction experience is helpful. Must be a minimum of 16 years old with a valid Colorado Driver's License. Requires successful completion of a driving and criminal background check.Education, Training and Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required Valid Colorado driver license and satisfactory motor vehicle recordKnowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance, landscaping, general construction practices, and standard safety practices preferred but not required. Skill using basic hand tools and operating lawn mowing, and landscaping equipment, preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English and adhere to safety policies/procedures while meeting schedules and deadlines. Customer orientated verbal communication skills including the ability to interact with town employees, vendors, and the public in a positive and cooperative manner. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to have a sense of ownership and pride in one's work.
