$35.68 - $39.64 Job Summary This position performs skilled maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction work to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of City-owned facilities. Utilizing a broad range of trade skills, this position maintains building systems, architectural components, access control hardware, and facility infrastructure; responds to maintenance and emergency service needs; and helps ensure City facilities provide a safe, functional, and professional environment for employees and the public. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City's discretion. Employees must be able to perform the essential duties of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. Performs skilled maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction activities utilizing a variety of trades including carpentry, painting, commercial door systems, locksmithing, flooring, masonry, welding, and other building maintenance disciplines to support City-owned facilities. Maintains and repairs commercial doors, locking hardware, key systems, and related access control components to support facility security and operational needs. Completes remodeling and construction projects, as assigned. Assists specialty trades staff with repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities involving building systems and equipment. Serves as the primary maintenance resource for assigned facilities, ensuring building systems, infrastructure, and occupant spaces are maintained in a safe, functional, and professional condition. Collaborate with facility occupants and City staff to identify maintenance needs and maintain safe, functional, and welcoming environments for employees and the public. Assists with emergency response, facility shutdowns, weather-related incidents, and restoration activities as needed. Utilizes the City's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to receive, document, track, and complete assigned work orders and maintenance activities. Operates City vehicles and equipment to travel between facilities and transport tools, materials, furnishings, and equipment. Performs welding, metal fabrication, and related repair work as needed to support facility maintenance and construction activities. Performs general building maintenance, repairs, and facility improvement projects, including conducting facility inspections to identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and needed corrective actions. All other duties as assigned.
none Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (7-10 KSA's required for this position) Ability to interact professionally with City staff, contractors, and facility occupants while providing high-quality customer service. Knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, construction methods, materials, and safety procedures related to commercial and municipal facilities. Ability to utilize mobile devices (iPad/iPhone), computers, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to receive assignments, document work, and maintain accurate maintenance and facility records. Ability to learn and adapt to new facility management technologies, digital tools, and asset management systems. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, adjust to changing demands, and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance staff, contractors, facility occupants, and other City departments to coordinate maintenance and facility improvement activities. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, equipment manuals, and technical documents. Ability to identify facility deficiencies, evaluate repair options, apply practical mathematics, and recommend cost-effective solutions. Skill in the use of tools, equipment, test equipment and materials related to trade. Follows all safety procedures and utilizes required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing maintenance activities and while operating a variety of equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to be on-call approximately once every two months (two-week duration). Post offer physical examination and background check are required. Technological Skills Skill in using computers, mobile devices, and standard software applications (email, CMMS, work order systems, and document management tools) to perform daily job duties, document work, and communicate with staff and supervisors.
Education and Experience Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience :
Experience in a variety of building trades, plumbing, carpentry, maintenance and craft areas. Commercial work experience preferred. Certification/Licenses/Specialized Training Valid driver's license and good driving record Pay Range $31.43-$39.64 Background and reference checks will be conducted for all regular and some variable/seasonal positions.
