Job Description
Basic Purpose of the Job Under general supervision and direction from the Parks Superintendent and/or Parks Team Leaders. Performs a variety of assigned duties and responsibilities involved in the maintenance of city owned athletic fields and facilities including special projects related to activities within public works. Learns and adheres to safety standards.

Work under the general direction and guidance of the Parks Superintendent and/or Parks Team Leaders. Must be able to work under minimal supervision and exercise sound independent judgment.Essential Functions:

ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.) Performs assigned duties in the maintenance and repair of city athletic fields. Operates maintenance equipment sprayers, mowers and power tools. Follows safety regulations in accordance with city guidelines. Practices proper safety precautions related to all work performed. Must attend all mandatory trainings as required.Core Beliefs:

Ability to calculate basic math. Ability to interpret and follow directions. Ability to safely operate a variety of hand tools and power equipment including; mowers, line trimmers, edgers, stripping . Ability to work independently without supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends during peak season. Ability to comply with safety standards. Licensures & Certificates (must be active and current.): Must be 18 years of age or older Valid Colorado drivers license with acceptable driving record.Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Requires ability to perform heavy manual labor. Strenuous physical work requiring ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally; frequent lifting, carrying, walking and standing, hand/eye coordination. Occasional hand/eye coordination for operation of equipment; vision for reading and preparing written reports and documents; frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens.Work Environment:
Outside work, with some exposure to outside elements. Requires driving and walking during inclement weather. The employee frequently is required to climb, stand, reach, balance and stoop, kneel, twist, crawl and crouch. Frequent exposure to pesticides and herbicides and occasional exposure to loud noise, cleaning chemicals and airborne particles.Expected Schedule:
