PARKS AND POOL MAINTENANCE

Position Summary The Town of West Hartford Department of Leisure Services is seeking a reliable, motivated individual for a part‑time seasonal Parks and Pool Maintenance position. This role supports the upkeep and safe operation of town pools, parks, and related facilities. Key Responsibilities Perform routine pool maintenance, including water testing and general upkeep Assist with landscape maintenance such as mowing, trimming, and grounds care Conduct light janitorial duties in park and pool facilities Support general facilities maintenance as assigned Operate a town vehicle to travel between worksites Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Stand for extended periods while completing tasks Requirements Valid Connecticut driver's license Ability to pass a background check Ability to work in varying weather conditions Ability to operate a town truck safely Physical capability to stand for long periods, perform manual tasks, and lift 50 pounds Preferred Qualifications Experience in landscaping and/or pool maintenance is a plus Willingness to learn — training will be provided for the right candidate Seasonal Availability Position runs from early April through late
