General Shop Assistant

We are looking for a reliable general workshop assistant to performs tasks like cleaning and maintaining the workshop space, assisting technicians with repairs and maintenance, organizing tools and materials, handling inventory, preparing work areas, and following safety procedures, all under the direction of a supervisor or workshop manager; essentially ensuring the workshop runs smoothly and efficiently by providing basic support to the technical team. Duties may include Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the workshop floor Cleaning and organizing tools and equipment Maintaining proper disposal of materials Dusting and wiping down work surfaces Bathroom and office cleaning Property maintenance such as pressure washing and mowing grass

Material Handling:

Retrieving and delivering materials to work stations and job sites Checking inventory levels and notifying supervisor when supplies are low Labeling and storing materials appropriately

Tool Assistance:

Preparing tools for installers by cleaning, inspecting, and ensuring they are in working order Assisting with basic tool operation and maintenance Preparing jobs and necessary equipment for installers

Work Area Preparation:

Covering work surfaces with protective materials Setting up necessary equipment and supplies for repairs

Administrative Tasks:

Maintaining basic paperwork related to work orders or inventory Reporting any damage or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor Qualifications Strong mechanical knowledge with basic math proficiency and experience in manufacturing environments preferred Familiarity with manual fabrication, tooling, and use of hand tools; ability to read blueprints and perform basic measurement preferred

Preferred:

forklift operation Safety-conscious with good organizational skills for maintaining clean, labeled, and well-maintained workspaces Adept at inventory management, equipment maintenance, and basic administrative tasks as needed
