About the
Role:
The Maintenance Assistant position is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of facilities and equipment within the organization. The primary goal of this role is to perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery and infrastructure. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate, thereby supporting a safe and productive work environment. The Maintenance professional will collaborate closely with other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and respond promptly to urgent repair needs. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to operational continuity and cost savings by maintaining high standards of equipment reliability and facility upkeep.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in maintenance or a related technical field. Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to pass a Level II background screening.https:

Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, or electrical systems. Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA regulations. Ability to operate specialized maintenance tools and equipment. Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and external vendors.Important Skills:
Basic handyman skills. Attention to safety. Good communication (especially with seniors and staff) Reliability and patience.Safety & Compliance:
Making sure the building meets safety codes. Fixing trip hazards, loose railings, or anything unsafe. Helping with fire drills and emergency preparedness.Resident Support:
Helping residents with simple requests (like adjusting a bed, TV, or furniture). Setting up rooms for new residents (beds, fixtures, etc.). Being respectful and patient -this is a people-focused job, not just repairs.Daily Repairs & Fixes:
Fixing things like leaking faucets, clogged toilets, broken door handles. Replacing light bulbs, air filters, smoke detector batteries. Minor electrical and plumbing work (nothing too advanced).Building Maintenance:
Making sure heating and cooling systems (HVAC) are working. Checking elevators, alarms, and emergency systems. Keeping hallways, rooms, and common areas in good condition.Grounds & Upkeep:
