Job Description

Are you hands-on, dependable, and take pride in keeping facilities running smoothly? We are seeking a Utilities Maintenance Worker to perform semiskilled work supporting the maintenance and operation of utilities equipment, grounds, lines, and structures. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained utility facilities while working under the close supervision of an administrative supervisor.
Education and Experience:
An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience: High school diploma or equivalent One (1) year of work experience Licenses and/or
Certificates:
Must maintain a valid driver's license. In this role, you can expect a hands-on, varied workday that supports the safe and efficient operation of utility facilities and grounds. You will perform preventive maintenance, clean septage receiving stations, maintain landscaped areas, and complete painting, light carpentry, and general upkeep to keep facilities in excellent condition. The position involves using and maintaining tools, machinery, and grounds equipment, completing work orders and records through computer systems, and adhering to safety practices such as trenching and shoring requirements. You'll work both independently and collaboratively, assist other departments as needed, and provide professional, responsive customer service through clear communication and problem-solving. Flexibility is essential, as the role may require evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergency response to support critical utility operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception. Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting over 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is exposed to outdoor weather conditions or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights, and/or dust.
