Woodworking Full Job Description Job Title:
Maintenance Tech/ Station Assistant Reports to:
Port Engineer Main Duties:
Assists with the work of the Station Manager which includes but is not limited to: 1. General boat maintenance, such as Assisting with hauling out boats Assisting with engine maintenance on Caterpillar C-18 diesel engines, Volvo Penta diesel engines with IPS2 drives, and Yamaha outboard engines Engine and fluid checks, hull and exterior cleaning, electrical system upkeep, and moving parts lubrication Oil changes Painting Cleaning and washing of vessels 2. Facility maintenance, such as Painting Pressure washing Furniture assembly Light janitorial work Ad hoc requests 3. Help perform inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment, engines, pumps, and systems under supervision. 4. Load and unload tools, supplies, and equipment as required for repair and maintenance jobs. 5. Assist with maintenance records and inventory control of tools and materials. 6. Follow all safety protocols and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly. 7. Assist skilled tradespeople (mechanics, electricians, welders) as needed. 8. Work in varying environmental conditions including docks, engine rooms, and open decks.
Skills Required:
Willingness to learn and take direction Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work safely around water, on a ladder, and/or in confined spaces Must be able to safely transfer on and off boats Must be able to climb below deck of vessels Must be able to stand and walk for extended time periods Must be able to safely operate hand and power tools Basic knowledge of carpentry skills Basic knowledge of plumbing skills Boat handling skills and knowledge of nautical terminology, preferred Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays, if needed Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information Compliance with all Association PPE policies Must have solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Valid driver's license and good driving record High school diploma or equivalent High attention to detail Certifications are a plus, but not required
