Perform general grounds maintenance, repair, and janitorial duties of fields, fencing, common areas, amenities, parking lots, and other areas. Provide polite, friendly, and accurate customer service. Conduct park patrols and general inspections of athletic facilities to ensure the safety of the public. Contribute to the decision-making process on the feasibility of playing on the field, depending on weather and field conditions. Assist with set-up and clean-up of facilities for practices, games, tournaments, and events. Ensure proper maintenance, watering, mowing, edging, trimming, and painting of athletic grounds. Schedule Work Hours :

Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.

About You Minimum Qualifications :

A High School Diploma or its equivalent. One-year of experience as a semi-skilled laborer in the care and maintenance of parks, landscapes, athletic fields, or other similar grounds. Possession of a valid Florida Class E License, or higher Commercial Driver's License at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications :

General knowledge of methods and techniques, of prepping and maintaining athletic field turf and adjunct facilities. General operation and maintenance of machines, power equipment, and hand tools. Operates mowers and other types of field maintenance equipment. Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under hot and humid conditions.

This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
