Maintenance Worker I (Municipal Facilities) City of St. Petersburg - 3.8 Seminole, FL Job Details Full-time $17.13 - $22.55 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment operation Floor scrubbers Pressure washing Driver's License Power tools Hand tools Full Job Description This is limited semi-skilled manual work assisting with municipal building and property maintenance. Work includes exterior cleaning and litter pick-up and interior general cleaning tasks, mopping, scrubbing, waxing floors, cleaning carpets, and pressure washing. Work involves cleaning restrooms, replenishing supplies, moving furniture, assembly and disassembly of office workspace fixtures, performing minor semi-skilled repairs, and other related tasks on the interior and exterior of municipal buildings and facilities. Work requires skill in the use of standard hand tools, the operation of gas and electric power tools including leaf blowers, pressure washers and various types of floor machines. This position requires routine overtime shifts on nights and weekends and may be assigned to City Hall, which includes interaction with the public and City employees.
Salary:
$17.13 - $22.55

Applicants must:
Possess and continue to maintain a valid Driver License. Have some experience performing building and property maintenance. Be able to learn and perform building and property maintenance tasks. Be able to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions. Be able to communicate effectively with City employees and citizens. Be able to plan and organize routine work details. Be able and willing to work routine overtime shifts both nights and weekends. Desirable Qualifications.
Preferred applicants:
Have a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency. Have experience operating gas and electric power tools and equipment.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
The successful candidate must be either a resident of the City of St. Petersburg as of his or her date of employment, or establish primary residency within the city limits of St. Petersburg within six months of completing the probationary period. Furthermore, as long as the successful candidate is employed in this classification, he or she must reside within the city limits of St. Petersburg. This requirement is not applicable to current City employees who were hired before October 20, 1997. Selection Process
