Job responsibilities include assisting with the safe and efficient function of all physical plant and environmental systems and keeping the Maintenance Director informed of matters relating to the maintenance of the facility's building and equipment while conducting job responsibilities in accordance with facility policies and procedures and in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, working cooperatively as part of a team to accomplish the goals of the department, assisting with maintaining the routine preventative maintenance program for all physical plants and equipment including routine maintenance and repair required to keep the building and equipment in good working order, assisting with monitoring building and equipment renovations, remodeling or replacement projects performed by contractors.

Maintenance Assistant Job Requirements:

MUST be able to pass a level II background check High school diploma and at least one year of maintenance experience in a healthcare facility, knowledge of life safety, local, state and federal codes, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, mechanical and electric equipment generally used in a healthcare facility. Assist with ordering and receiving supplies and validating deliveries. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and provide outstanding customer service. Should be able to assist with maintaining and/or repairing the following items to acceptable standards: Plumbing and air conditioning, refrigerators, hot water heater/boilers, washers and dryers, emergency power generators, carpentry and furniture repair, painting or redecorating of furniture and equipment, routine concrete and masonry repairs. This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
