Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Cleaning and Maintenance Worker to keep our facilities spotless, safe, and well-maintained. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, custodial, and maintenance tasks across our commercial and residential spaces. Your proactive approach will ensure our environment remains welcoming, hygienic, and operationally efficient. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a clean and safe environment while developing your skills in facilities upkeep. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain hygiene standards. Carry out floor care activities including buffing, polishing, stripping, and waxing to preserve flooring quality. Assist with custodial responsibilities in both commercial and residential settings, ensuring spaces meet cleanliness expectations. Support facilities maintenance by inspecting lighting fixtures, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other building infrastructure for issues requiring repair or upkeep. Perform industrial cleaning tasks such as deep cleaning of machinery or large-scale areas when necessary. Assist with minor repairs or painting projects like touch-up painting in residential or commercial spaces to enhance appearance. Requirements Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, custodial services or facilities maintenance. Knowledge of various cleaning techniques including floor care procedures like buffing and waxing. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, pressure washers, and floor scrubbers safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions comfortably. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout the shift. Nice-to-have skills include residential painting experience, industrial cleaning expertise, porter experience in commercial settings, and familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks.
