Custodian/Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct routine janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold hygiene standards. Carry out floor care tasks including buffing, polishing, stripping, and waxing to maintain optimal appearance and safety. Assist with general facilities maintenance including minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and troubleshooting basic equipment issues. Support industrial cleaning projects when required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols during high-volume or specialized cleaning tasks. Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas such as walkways and parking lots by sweeping debris or removing snow/ice as needed. Keep detailed records of completed tasks and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and safety standards. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing. Experience with commercial or industrial cleaning environments is preferred. Ability to perform light maintenance tasks such as painting or minor repairs effectively. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to prioritize daily duties efficiently. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and operate cleaning equipment for extended periods. Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is a plus; certifications in custodial services or related fields are advantageous.
