Job Description
Cleans administrative offices, work rooms, break rooms, and restrooms; vacuums, dusts, empties trash cans, cleans toilets, shines mirrors and faucets, cleans sink basins and counters, and sweeps and mops floors. Sets up rooms as assigned; reviews diagrams; places tables, chairs, risers, stages, dance floors, podiums, AV equipment, and lighting as designated. Cleans floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets as needed. Breaks down rooms upon completion of events; returns all tables, chairs, and other equipment to appropriate storage areas. Cleans main hallways, restrooms, windows, and public use areas. Performs grounds maintenance duties; picks up trash; empties ash urns; cleans windows, polishes door knobs; pressure washes walkways as needed. Assists other City departments and customers in loading and unloading equipment and supplies. Carries tables, chairs, and boxes to external sites. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge of the principles and practices of facilities and grounds maintenance and repair. Knowledge of the principles and practices of audiovisual equipment operation. Skill in the operation of a sweepers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners. Skill in problem solving and decision making. Skill in management and supervision. Skill in the performance of landscaping activities. Skill in oral and written communication. Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Must have valid driver's license. The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, walking, or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, and must be able to distinguish between shades of color. Balancing
