Building Maintenance Worker & Maintenance Technician

This position is responsible for: Performing routine repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment; performs minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repair work. Provides custodial care for the common areas of the building and the grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs routine building maintenance activities; performs minor plumbing repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged toilets; performs carpentry work required to repair dents and/or holes in walls and paints walls. Performs routine electrical repairs; replaces and adds receptacles; repairs light fixtures; performs other miscellaneous electrical repairs. Provides daily care for all surfaces, fixtures and furnishings in the common areas and the grounds. Provides make-ready services for tenant apartments at turnover, including trash out, paint, minor repairs and cleaning; paints inside and outside of all buildings. Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc.; sets up activity rooms for functions. Performs various errands at the direction of the Directors and/or Managers. Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to perform heavy lifting. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
