Park Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and pruning trees to keep parks vibrant and inviting Operate power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and turf areas Conduct routine inspections of park facilities, pathways, playgrounds, and recreational areas to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards Use hand tools for gardening tasks such as planting, weeding, mulching, and soil preparation Assist with general park upkeep including trash removal, cleaning picnic areas, and maintaining pathways for visitor safety Support horticultural activities by caring for trees, flower beds, and landscaped areas to promote healthy growth Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively Familiarity with irrigation systems and lawn care techniques is a plus Strong physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team A positive attitude with a passion for outdoor environments and community service Join us in creating beautiful parks that serve as vital community spaces!
