Wailua Bay View Property Steward — Work Exchange Opportunity 320 Papaloa Road, Kapaʻa, Kauai, HI 96746 About Wailua Bay View Wailua Bay View is a well-maintained oceanfront condominium resort featuring 45 one-bedroom units across three floors in beautiful Kapaʻa, HI. The property includes an unheated chlorine pool and barbecue grills and sits right on the east shore of Kauai adjacent to Wailua Beach. The Kauai Path runs along the front of the property, and several restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. About the Position This is a work exchange arrangement — not a salaried or management position. In exchange for performing light property stewardship duties, the selected individual will receive complimentary use of an oceanfront one-bedroom condo unit at Wailua Bay View. We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and friendly individual who takes pride in their surroundings and enjoys being part of a small community. This role suits someone who appreciates a relaxed island lifestyle and can handle light physical tasks independently. Compensation Complimentary oceanfront one-bedroom condo unit at Wailua Bay View (if desired). This is a housing-in-exchange-for-services arrangement; no monetary wages are provided. Responsibilities Light Maintenance Perform routine light maintenance tasks around the building and grounds. Minor repairs such as touch-up painting, tightening railings, and similar handyman tasks. Assist with cleaning and sealing the pool deck as needed. Provide basic guidance and assistance to the gardener for tropical plants and lawn care. Report any maintenance issues requiring outside vendors to the WBV Board or Hawaiiana Management. Cleaning & Common Area Upkeep Keep common areas, hallways, and the pool area clean and presentable. Assist with opening and closing procedures for common areas. Monitor and maintain the pool and barbecue area, ensuring cleanliness and safety. Security Checks Conduct regular walkthroughs of the property to ensure all is in order. Ensure guests have registered and obtained a parking permit. Be available to respond to basic physical concerns on the property. Enforce Wailua Bay View House Rules in a friendly and respectful manner. Report significant issues to Hawaiiana Management or the WBV Board of Directors. Not Responsible For This is not a property management role. The Property Steward is not responsible for: Guest check-ins or check-outs for individual condo units. Individual unit maintenance or repairs. Any business operations of individual condo owners. Administrative management duties. Ideal Candidate Reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated. Comfortable with light physical maintenance and cleaning tasks. Friendly and respectful when interacting with owners and guests. Basic handyman or general maintenance skills preferred. Prior experience with pool maintenance or landscaping is a plus. Comfortable living and working on-site in a community setting.
