Position Overview:
Assignments will include, but not be limited to, snow removal, general maintenance, floor replacement, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, asphalt and cement repair, tree trimming, etc. We are looking for individuals who like working with their hands and solving problems and we will train on specifics upon hire! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a service-oriented environment by exhibiting a professional appearance and attitude Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, common areas and grounds Participate in snow removal and other weather-related emergencies as necessary. Make apartments ready for move in and complete resident work orders including, but not limited to: floor replacement, plumbing repair/replacement, electrical installation/repair, HVAC tune up/repair/replacement, minor carpet repair, carpentry, fixture/window treatment installation/repair, cabinetry. Participate in larger maintenance projects including, but not limited to: asphalt and cement repair, deck repair, siding painting and repair etc. Carry the on-call phone when required and respond to all emergency calls immediately, efficiently and effectively. Participate in job and safety training including HVAC, pool certification etc. Contribute to the safe working environment of Barker Apartments, QC properties by always maintaining safe work practices.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods and practices involved in apartment maintenance and projects Experience operating power and manual tools Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays Ability to work extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift and move 60 pounds without restrictions Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and be able to climb three flights of stairs throughout the day Maintain professional, positive relationships with prospects, residents, and coworkers Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Ability to use electronic communications professionally and efficiently
Compensation:
$26-30 per hour
