PART-TIME MECHANIC ASSISTANT

$16/hr+ Depending on

Expereince Job Summary:

The Part-Time Mechanic Assistant supports shop mechanics with daily maintenance and repair operations by assisting with basic mechanical tasks, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and helping ensure equipment and tools are properly handled and maintained. This position plays an important role in supporting efficient shop operations and promoting a safe workplace. The following duties are typical for this job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist mechanics with equipment inspections, maintenance, and repair tasks. Gather and organize tools, parts, and materials needed for repair jobs. Clean and maintain shop areas, workstations, and equipment. Wash equipment, vehicles, and tools as needed. Assist with loading, unloading, and moving parts and equipment. Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks under supervision. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by management or shop supervisors.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable with good attendance and punctuality. Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment. Basic knowledge of hand tools and shop equipment preferred. Good communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to workplace safety practices.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

Previous shop, mechanical, maintenance, or labor experience preferred but not required. Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods of time. Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in varying temperatures and typical shop conditions. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Ability to climb in and around equipment and vehicles as needed.
