Facilities Clerk - Student

DESCRIPTION

Learn the behind the scenes work of the University of Iowa Center for Advancement.

Duties will include:

assisting with facilities-related projects including painting, work station moves and changes, office furniture maintenance and inventory, basic outdoor grounds maintenance, and various other tasks related to the position. Facilities Clerks will support special event setups. Individuals will maintain regular communication with their supervisor regarding department projects, issues, and objectives.

HOURS PER WEEK

Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week during the school year and breaks. Flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some occasional nights and weekends. Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks.

START DATE

Approximately two weeks after offer acceptance and ongoing until graduation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a University of Iowa or Kirkwood student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours during the school year. Able to operate hand-held power tools (or willing to learn). Must be able to frequently walk up and down stairs, often carrying boxes/items weighing up to 75 pounds. Must be able to reach, bend, and grip. Must be able to drive a van or car and have a good driving record. This position is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
