Positioned in the vibrant cityscape near Chicago, IL, this role will support the seamless functioning of injection molding operations and the associated equipment. You will act as a key collaborator, stepping in for management when necessary, while still engaging in hands-on technical tasks. The ideal candidate is driven by both the present demands of maintenance excellence and future leadership development. In your role, you'll be the go-to leader during management's absence, guiding the daily operational flow and reducing any production delays. Expertise in troubleshooting complex issues in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is crucial as you ensure equipment reliability and perform comprehensive repairs. Leading root cause analyses to mitigate future breakdowns, you will also implement preventive strategies to optimize machine uptime. A crucial part of your responsibilities involves mentoring a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a proactive, problem-solving culture. You'll manage essential documentation such as time sheets and work orders and ensure stocking of necessary inventory through coordination with tool management teams. You'll maintain open communication with production and management to align with organizational priorities and enforce a commitment to safety and organization within the maintenance environment. Technical proficiency in supporting diverse equipment including molding machines, chillers, and grinders is essential. The role demands physical agility in navigating the manufacturing environment, with requirements for standing, lifting, and maneuvering in various workplace conditions. Your qualifications should showcase significant prior experience with injection molding machinery, alongside robust troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
