Shop Assistant

Shop Assistant Construction Management Corporation of America - Downers Grove, IL Construction Management Corporation of America is a growing contractor serving the Chicagoland area. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on Shop Assistant to keep our operations running efficiently behind the scenes. This is a critical support role for our field and mechanical teams. If you take pride in cleanliness, organization, and getting things done, this position is for you. Position Summary The Shop Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked shop and yard environment. This role also supports operations by picking up parts, materials, and permits and assisting with daily logistical needs. This is a hands-on position working both indoors and outdoors year-round. Responsibilities Shop Assistant

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional shop environment
• Organize tools, parts, and materials with clear labeling systems
• Ensure shop supplies and consumables are stocked
• Monitor inventory and communicate reordering needs
• Keep equipment parking and yard areas organized Grounds Maintenance (Non-Landscaping)
• Maintain yard cleanliness (debris removal, sweeping, general upkeep)
• Manage scrap materials and disposal bins
• Keep storage containers and trailers organized
• Coordinate snow management as needed

Note:

Lawn mowing is handled by an outside service. Operational Support & Errands

• Pick up parts, materials, permits, and tools
• Deliver small equipment and materials to job sites
• Support mechanics and operations team with urgent needs
• Assist with equipment staging and preparation Qualifications
• Valid Driver's License (Required)
• Class C license or CDL preferred
• Clean driving record
• Strong communication skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated and dependable
• Able to lift 50+ lbs
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all seasons Compensation & Benefits
