Job Description

The Grounds & Facilities Work Study supports the Facilities Department by helping maintain a safe, clean, and attractive campus environment. The position focuses on landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance, and assisting with facility improvement and maintenance projects throughout the summer. Mow, trim, and edge lawns throughout campus. Weed, mulch, water, and maintain landscaped areas and flower beds. Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, and other campus beautification projects. Remove litter, debris, and other materials from campus grounds. Assist with painting, light carpentry, and minor building improvement projects. Support routine maintenance activities and report facility concerns. Assist with furniture moves, event setup and teardown, and general campus support tasks. Clean and organize maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment. Safely operate lawn care and maintenance equipment after proper training. Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director or Facilities staff. Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need; and Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status; and Maintain a minimum of 1 credit hour of enrollment in eligible courses; OR Be enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit hour in the upcoming term. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Previous landscaping, lawn care, maintenance, or construction experience is preferred but not required.
