Part Time Maintenance

Maintenance Supervisor Summary:

Performs general parks grounds and facilities. Cleaning and maintenance duties as directed. Functions as night security while on duty.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Performs maintenance activities including litter and trash pickup on building exteriors and interiors, cleaning of restrooms, shelters, grills, trash cans, trails and other duties as necessary for good appearance and safety in parks as assigned. 2. Utilizes and operates a variety of hand tools and equipment in order to carry out assigned tasks. This may include but is not limited to weed eating, painting, disinfecting, etc. 3. Assist other staff with special event setup and tear down as directed. 4. Checks buildings for open doors, windows or other security risks. 5. Locks up restrooms, storage areas and other park facilities buildings as needed. 6. Check pool pumps, filters, chemicals, etc as directed to ensure proper operation and security of facility. 7. Immediately report major problems as they arise to appropriate personnel orally and/or in writing to their supervisor or other appropriate personnel. 8. Keep and report accurate time work records 9. Maintain a professional, cooperative working relationship with other staff members and the public.

Skills and Qualifications:

Must have current Indiana driver's license with clean driving record. 1. General good health and ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, such as the ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, lift, balance, walk and use arms, legs, hands to fingers and movement of whole body, enabling the use of common hand and power tools, such as back pack blowers, brooms, squeegees, sprayers, etc. 2. Must be able to lift, move and maneuver 55 gallon trash drums on a nightly basis. 3. Ability to work in all outside weather conditions; wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold (below 32) and extreme heat (above 90) ability to work around various chemicals such as cleaning agents, paint and pool chemicals. 4. A valid Indiana drivers license with an acceptable motor vehicle record allowing insurability by the park district current vehicle insurance carrier under existing coverage provisions at the time of employment and thereafter. 5. Work hours will vary from 1 hour in winter season up to 6 hours daily during warm summer season, spring and fall.

Compensation:

Workmen's compensation insurance and hourly wage $13.00. Part Time Night Maintenance Clean restrooms and shelter houses, dump 55 gallon trash cans, pick up litter, etc. Must have a valid Indiana driver license and have no criminal convictions. Must be able to work independently at night, evenings, weekends and holidays are required. Approximately 6:00 p.m. to Midnight in spring, summer and fall season.
