Working knowledge of various trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Working knowledge of radio communications and procedures. Working knowledge of appropriate safety precautions needed for a variety of repairs. Ability to use a variety of automotive, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tools for routine maintenance and repair. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records. Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment. Ability to work independently and provide self-motivation. Ability to read and follow guidelines and blueprints to complete construction projects. Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation. A degree is not required. Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Richmond State Hospital is about the people we serve and the community relationships we have developed, dating back to 1890. Richmond State Hospital is a public behavioral health facility operated by the state of Indiana and one of six state psychiatric hospitals within the Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction. As part of a newly integrated system of state psychiatric hospitals, we serve consumers across the state as the Eastern Center of Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Services. Nestled in northwestern Richmond, our beautiful campus provides a quiet and peaceful environment. The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in theLife:
The essential functions of this role are as follows: Diagnose and repair various maintenance issues. Maintain service and maintenance records. Purchase required parts, tools, and supplies according to State policy. Repair buildings and structures.
