Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Department of Veterans Affairs Location 100 Veterans Drive Wilmore, KY 40390 USA Description Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility that has served more than 2,782 Veterans from all branches of the armed forces since admitting the first resident on August 25, 1991. Thomson-Hood is the largest facility operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs. The Thomson Hood Veterans Center is looking for self-motivated energetic Maintenance Worker II. Coordinates and performs the work of employees and assist the supervisor in the maintenance of buildings. Operation of electrical systems, plumbing systems, sewer and associated equipment, and Performs other duties as required. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. This position has an approved Locality Premium of $3.66, based on the organizational structure and work county it is currently assigned to, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1). EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS
One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience. Substitute

Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitute

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
(AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age. Working Conditions Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in
KRS 18A.111.
