The role is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our members and the community using our facilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage a diverse range of tasks independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Building Maintenance:

Perform general maintenance at KHCC , including but not limited to carpentry, painting, drywall, and general troubleshooting. Monitoring and reporting major maintenance or repair needs to the Property Chair.

Electrical and Plumbing:

Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on electrical fixtures and wiring, and plumbing systems. Coordinate with external contractors for more complex issues as needed.

Restroom Cleaning & Sanitation:

Ensure all restrooms are consistently clean, sanitized, and well-stocked throughout the day, particularly during peak usage periods and events. Clean up after special events during the week.

Church Support:

Facilitate the setting up and storing of tables, chairs, and other equipment for church services, events, and meetings. Including the preparation for special services and events, such as Christmas, Easter, weddings, funerals. Ensure that heating in winter and air in summer is turned on Sunday mornings as needed. Maintain security of buildings, including locking and unlocking doors, and setting security systems.

Preventative Maintenance:

Implement and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all building systems and equipment to minimize breakdowns and extend asset lifespans. Manage maintenance supplies and maintain inventory. "Outside the Box"

Thinking:

Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in identifying and implementing innovative solutions to maintenance challenges, often with limited resources.

Independent Work:

Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and accountability for assigned tasks.

Other Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor to support the overall operational needs of KHCC.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in building maintenance, including general repairs, electrical, and plumbing. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of maintenance issues independently. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with maintenance work. Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings as required for events. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
