Maintenance Worker:
Full Time (40 Hours) and Per Diem Available Notre Dame Health Care Center, Inc. Worcester, MA We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic team, providing an essential service to ensure the safety and comfort of our residents in an assisted living or skilled nursing home setting. Job Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical repairs, plumbing, HVAC system maintenance, and carpentry work within the assisted living or skilled nursing facility. Conduct regular inspections of the building and systems to identify and resolve issues promptly. Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations within the facility and maintain a safe work environment. Assist with the setup and teardown of furniture and equipment for facility events or resident moves. Repair and maintain facility equipment, including kitchen appliances, laundry machines, and medical devices, to ensure they are operational and safe for resident use. Collaborate with facility staff to prioritize maintenance tasks and manage workflow. Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs completed, and parts inventory. Perform painting, drywall repair, and aesthetic improvements to enhance the living environment for residents. Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs. Assist in snow removal, landscaping, and exterior maintenance to ensure safe access and pleasant surroundings. Support the implementation of energy-saving initiatives and participate in sustainability efforts within the facility. Assist in the training of new maintenance staff as required and provide ongoing guidance to ensure high-quality service. PM17
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in general maintenance or facilities work Experience in an assisted living, skilled nursing home, or healthcare facility is preferred Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and carpentry Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods Basic computer skills for maintaining maintenance records and inventory Good communication skills for interacting with residents, staff, and visitors Availability to respond to emergency calls outside of normal working hours Must pass a background check and all pre-employment screenings Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Commitment to following OSHA health and safety standards Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed Compensation details: 21-30 Hourly Wage PIe1b475a614c8-25404-40029087
