Description The Woodland Job Corps Center, located in Laurel, Maryland, sits on 33 acres of suburban land and is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the young people we serve.   • A courteous, team-oriented staff culture Transportation, Maintenance & Student Support Responsibilities Provides safe, efficient, and effective transportation services for students while supporting the preventative maintenance and repair of Center facilities and grounds .
Performs routine maintenance and inspections of Center facilities and systems to ensure proper functionality and prevent disruptions to student and staff services. Maintenance Documentation & Oversight Completes, tracks, and documents work status accurately and promptly, notifying the supervisor of any issues or concerns identified during maintenance or transportation activities . Student Supervision & Development May supervise Job Corps Work-Based Learning students to enhance employability skills and provide industry-relevant, hands-on training . May also supervise Work-Based Learning and Leisure Time Student Workers assigned to the department. Student Transportation Services Provides timely and efficient student transportation services as required . Maintains all required vehicle documentation in accordance with Department of Labor and Company requirements . Vehicle Maintenance & Safety Schedules and delivers vehicles for preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary . Conducts regular vehicle inspections and reports safety issues or concerns to the supervisor to ensure compliance and safe operation . Work Quality & Productivity Produces high-quality work and assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner. Maintains appropriate attendance, accountability, and productivity standards . Organization & Time Management Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments effectively to meet established goals and deadlines •. Demonstrates strong understanding and application of job knowledge to complete all required responsibilities and proactively maintains skills needed to perform job duties . Career Success Standards & Student Engagement Mentors, monitors, and models Career Success Standards in accordance with PRH requirements . Shows respect and courtesy to students while holding them accountable for their actions and behavior . Service Quality & Continuous Improvement Provides high-quality services for students, ensuring needs are met while continuously pursuing improvements and enhancements to required services . Communication & Problem Solving Exchanges ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and contributes meaningfully to team efforts by sharing relevant ideas and knowledge . Provides accurate and timely information to the Department of Labor and Company when requested . Identifies problems, analyzes root causes, evaluates appropriate solutions, and takes or recommends corrective action as needed. Follows up to ensure issues are resolved promptly and effectively . Teamwork & Flexibility Works collaboratively with staff across all departments to ensure effective supervision and quality services for students . Accepts direction from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer, or Shift Manager, including temporary assignments to perform responsibilities of other departments or positions as needed . Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Advanced education or certifications preferred Previous experience working with youth preferred Previous experience in OSHA-regulated environments, HVAC, or manufacturing industries preferred Valid in-state driver's license required Must meet company insurability requirements Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, stoop, and crouch as required Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds Must be able to assess lifting requirements and request assistance when needed to ensure safe work practices Equal Employment Opportunity & Accessibility Adams and Associates, Inc. complies with all applicable federal regulations, including 41 CFR §§ 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a), and 60-741.5(a) .
