Town of New Windsor Public Works Department Public Works Maintenance Worker 2 Permanent Full Time - 40 Hours per Week Position $21.00 per Hour The Town of New Windsor is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker 2 in the Public Works Department. This is a permanent, 40 hours per week, entry level position. A benefit package is available. General Responsibilities Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work, operates a variety of equipment, performs various duties to maintain Town parks, storm drains, roads and occasionally assist with water and sewer operations. Perform snow removal duties and respond to various emergencies. Perform 24-hour back-up stand-by duties as required for operation, maintenance and safety of facilities. Takes direction from the Public Works Supervisor. Education and Experience 2-year's maintenance and equipment operations experience. General knowledge of equipment maintenance. General knowledge of road and sidewalk maintenance and repair. 2-year's plowing experience with pick up and small dump truck. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn (water reading device.)
