Job Description

Are you a hands-on team player who enjoys staying physically active and working behind the scenes? The Augusta Civic Center is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to assist with event setup, general maintenance, and custodial care of our busy multi-use facility. This part-time role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and is ready to roll up their sleeves in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. It's also a great opportunity for anyone looking to earn extra income with flexible, part-time hours available. Preference will be given to candidates who can work at least one eight (8) hour shift per week. A complete job description is available on the City of Augusta website: https://www.augustamaine.gov/employment In this role you will: Assist with the set up and take down of function rooms and equipment for events. Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors; wash walls, windows, and woodwork; clean restrooms, bleachers, locker rooms; dust surfaces; and remove rubbish and wastepaper both inside and outside of venue campus. Perform preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment (e.g. bleachers, tables, restrooms, chairs, staging, and concession areas). Perform minor maintenance on equipment with basic hand tools as needed. Hours Must be able and willing to work on a flexible non-traditional schedule, including nights, weekends and overnights based on business needs. Hours vary depending on scheduled events (average of 15-20 hours per week anticipated) Minimum Requirements Candidate must be at least 18 years old Reliable transportation to and from work, regardless of shift time Prior experience in general maintenance, custodial work, or event set up. Basic mechanical skills preferred Compensation & Benefits Intermittent Part-Time Range PT15 $17.77 to $22.19 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
