FACILITIES MAINTENANCE WORKER I

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE WORKER I
  • Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department
  • Public Assembly Facilities Division 40 hours/week (varied schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays).
Step into a vital role as a Facilities Maintenance and Custodial Worker where you'll be the backbone of our facility's upkeep! From ensuring a clean and safe environment with our public restrooms to event set-up and maintenance tasks, you'll play a crucial part in maintaining our spaces. Duties include:
Cleaning, maintenance of the city parks public restrooms. Operation of pump truck. Operation of light snow removal equipment to include a pickup truck with a plow and salter. Operation of a Bobcat, forklift and high lift (training provided). Performing routine facility maintenance as necessary and routine exterior maintenance, including snow removal (manually and machine operated). Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment. Perform basic interior building repairs. Establish effective working relationships with various agencies and stakeholders.
Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects over an extended period of time. Ability to wear a respiratory mask. Ability to work with Biohazard materials Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to meet and deal courteously with the public. Physical strength and agility necessary to perform the essential functions of the work. Must possess valid Class C driver's license in good standing, and a reliable vehicle for work-use when applicable. Prior customer service experience desired. The hours for this position will vary throughout the year to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays with the possibility of overtime. Applications accepted until filled. Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position, Labor & Trades
  • Grade 16
  • Starting salary range $896.40
  • $982.
