Job Description
Ely Township is looking to fill our Maintenance Worker position. This is a part time position with most hours being in the summer months as many responsibilities are seasonal. Hours are limited during the winter months based on weather. The maintenance worker ensures all Township facilities are taken care of to provide safe and reliable service for Ely Township Residents. Responsibilities 1) Work under the direction of the Office Manager & Township Supervisor 2) Maintain the following as directed: Township Hall (minor maintenance as needed) Garage (minor maintenance as needed) Parking Lots (sealing and plowing as needed) Playground Equipment (repairs and maintenance as needed) Township Parks (Lawn maintenance and building maintenance as needed, Garbage pickup) Township Baseball Field (drag field, repair fencing, dugouts, bleachers, etc.) Maintain Township vehicle and lawn equipment 3) Assist Water Operator as needed. (This includes but not limited to, water testing during Operator's absence and flushing systems, deliver resident water notifications, water shut-off locating) 4) Assist with glass collection at Ishpeming Township on the first Wednesday of each month from 1:00pm-6:00pm. Assigned tasks include but are not limited to: Painting, sealing parking lots, shoveling, plowing parking lots, plowing hydrants, simple plumbing repairs, door and window maintenance, lawn maintenance, outdoor repairs, maintain signs, park bench and table repairs, seasonal duties, assigning addresses, resident water turn-on & shut-offs, and all other tasks required to maintain Township Facilities as assigned by Supervisor or Office Manager. All Township facilities are to be taken care of in a timely manner to provide safe and reliable service for Ely Township Residents.
