  • Okemos, Michigan College Fields Golf Club is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Mechanic to join our golf course maintenance team.
College Fields is a premier 18-hole public golf course featuring a blend of links-style and wooded championship golf, located just minutes from Michigan State University. This is a full-time seasonal position working directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and Mechanic to maintain and repair the equipment fleet that supports daily golf course operations. Position Responsibilities Assist in maintaining and repairing golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, and small engines Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, grinding, sharpening, lubrication, and equipment inspections Follow all workplace safety procedures and equipment operation guidelines Qualifications Mechanical experience preferred, including small engines, diesel, hydraulic, or electrical systems Knowledge of turf equipment and reel mower maintenance is a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required during the golf season Valid driver's license required Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Golf privileges Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in golf course equipment management and turf operations About College Fields Golf Club Opened in 2005, College Fields Golf Club is known for its rolling greens, strategic bunkering, and exceptional conditioning.
