Job Description

Michigan Snow Services LLC is seeking to fill thirty-five (35) Snow Removal Technician (SOC Code 37-3011.00 Landscaping and groundskeeping Workers) temporary, full-time seasonal positions for October 1, 2026, to April 15, 2027.
Worksite:
2883 Wilder Road, Metamora, MI 48455, and multiple sites in Wayne, Sanilac, Lapeer, Oakland, Macomb, Huron, Tuscola, and Livingston counties.
Job Duties:
Shovel snow in residential parking lots, drive-ways, and sidewalks using power-driven devices such as snow blowers or hand tools such as shovels, grounds maintenance, such as litter cleanup and winterization of irrigation systems, and other duties as assigned related to facilities maintenance, such as clearing facilities of leaves, snow, or debris. Potential for fall and spring grounds clean-up, including raking, mulching, and composting of leaves, removal of dead plant material, perennial plant cutbacks, landscape bed mulching, and dormant pruning from the ground level. Operate a snow blower. De-icing and removal of snow from walks, driveways and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties, using hand tools such as snow brooms, shovels, and spreading de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt by hand. May also use walk behind electric or gas snow blowers, as needed. May drive crew vehicle. No driver's license is required as a condition of employment for the position. If the prospective worker already possesses a standard, noncommercial driver's license they may be asked to drive a vehicle to jobsites, as needed. Will not operate snow plow.
Requirements:
No education, training or experience required.
Special Requirements:
Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Work hours may include nights and overtime during emergencies and winter storm conditions. Must be able to perform manual, physical labor outside during all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.).
Terms and conditions of employment:
$19.93/ hr., 35 hr/week. Overtime available at $29.90/hr. Mon-Fri, 7:00AM-4:30PM. Employees will be paid weekly on Friday. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will begin each day at the worksite address. They will then be transported, free of charge, to properties located throughout the area of intended employment to perform duties. They will then be transported back to the worksite address at the end of each work day. On the job training available Other benefits provided and cost: Employer will make all deductions required by law, and no others, without written consent from the worker. The employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. Employer will assist workers in securing board, lodging, or other facilities. Optional housing is available to workers at a cost of $80/week (includes rent, electric, gas, water, and trash). Rent and utilities to be deducted from paycheck if elected. Employer to provide first set of company shirts, work pants, and sweatshirts free of charge. Option to purchase additional uniform clothing which can be deducted from payroll. Employee cash advances or loans made at the employee's request optional, which may be repaid by payroll deductions.
Transportation, Subsistence, and Fees:
The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the US or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
Additional Requirements:
In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
Three-fourths guarantee:
The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Tools, protective clothing or other items: The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform the job.
