Job Description:
Title:
Facilities Technician Reports to: Facilities Supervisor Facilities & Property Maintenance
  • Repair, upgrade, and maintain a variety of facilities and properties, including rental homes, apartments, and plant buildings
  • Perform routine inspections to identify damage, wear, or opportunities for improvement on equipment
  • Complete work orders, preventative maintenance tasks, and facility improvements assigned Equipment & Vehicle Operation
  • Safely operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, payloader, trucks, semis, power tools, trailers, lifts, and excavators
  • Conduct pre and post operation inspections and report any mechanical issues
  • Support small dirt/earthwork tasks as needed for facility upkeep. Composting Facility Operations
  • Grind and haul wood and other materials from various sources for composting
  • Mix multi-ingredient compost recipes using a TMR mixer to fill aerated bunks
  • Move raw materials and finished compost products for processing, storage, or field application General Duties
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Support operational teams with facility needs, seasonal tasks, and material handling
  • Promote a positive personal and company image within the community through professional conduct and customer service Qualifications Required
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely (training provided where necessary)
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with power tools and equipment Preferred
  • Valid CDL (Preferred but not required)
  • Experience with composting, agriculture, construction, or facilities maintenance
  • Experience operating skid steers, loaders, excavators, or similar machinery Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.)
  • Ability to climb stairs and work at heights above 4 feet (ladders, lifts, platforms)
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 75 lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, walking, and standing
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, moving machinery, and uneven terrain Work Environment
  • Primarily outdoor and industrial environments, including composting sites, plant facilities, and residential properties
  • Exposure to dust, odors, noise, and varying terrain
  • Work may include early mornings, occasional weekends, or seasonal overtime as needed
