Responsibilities The Building Support position supports the Facilities Division to ensure smooth operations by effectively keeping the facilities safe, clean, and efficient. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are: Maintains the City Facilities by performing preventive maintenance, basic repairs and room setups. Provides service to customers for effective and efficient execution of City events (i.e. set-up and breakdown of facilities, meeting and event set-up, and assembly); provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all City Center guests. Assist building engineers with monitoring equipment to ensure that the building's systems perform efficiently and safely. Maintains and improves the appearance and operation of City facilities by performing minor repairs. Supports division cross-function initiatives by developing skills, applying technical knowledge, and assisting with projects. While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required; technical degree in related field preferred. Minimum of one year building maintenance experience preferred. Experience in basic carpentry, plumbing, repair/maintenance of building systems and equipment preferred. This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, and the ability to bend/stand/reach. Knowledge and physical ability to operate hand tools and vehicles required. Must be available to work evening shifts. Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City's evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position include skills assessment, professional reference checks, work verification, background check, drivers license check.
