Job Description

Maintenance Assistant Introduction Oak Hills Living Center is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This position plays a key role in ensuring our facility, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained and operating efficiently. Responsibilities Facility & Equipment Maintenance Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work Inspect, test, and maintain equipment to ensure proper operation Maintain heating and cooling systems in accordance with guidelines Complete work orders and document maintenance activities Grounds & Building Care Maintain sidewalks, parking areas, and outdoor grounds (mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal as needed) Ensure safe and hazard-free conditions throughout the facility Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures, infection control standards, and facility policies Use proper lockout/tagout procedures when necessary Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues promptly Support & Teamwork Assist vendors, contractors, and inspectors as needed Help move equipment and supplies safely Participate in trainings, meetings, and quality improvement activities Provide support and training to new team members Resident-Focused Care Complete maintenance tasks with consideration for resident comfort and dignity Coordinate work to minimize disruption to residents' daily routines Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous maintenance experience is helpful but not required - we will train the right candidate Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and repair techniques preferred Ability to follow instructions and work independently Strong communication and teamwork skills Shift Requirements 40 hours per week Monday-Friday with on call rotation Why Join Oak Hills Living Center?
