Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above. This position will be located at Echo Bluff State Park 35244 Echo Bluff Drive, Eminence, MO 65466 . Shifts are primarily Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, (30-minute lunch break). Regular days off will be Saturday and Sunday but may vary with the time of the year to meet the needs of the facility. This position requires working regular weekends, nights, and holidays March - November. Must also work varying shifts depending on holiday, emergencies, and special events. Available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays. Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator's license. This position specializes in areas such as electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, and plumbing. This position will be accountable for completing skilled work within the above specialized trades and will apply trade- specific knowledge to troubleshooting and work that is complex or varied in nature. The position will exercise skill in procedures, processes, regulations, and practices applicable to above specialized trades. Skill in operations and maintenance of equipment and tools. Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, bend, reach, climb ladder, and work from heights. Responsibilities - What you'll do Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings and facilities. Research, estimate, acquire bids and/or purchase materials for specific projects or repairs as needed. Employee will work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries. Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds. Collaborate and problem-solve with team members and supervisors. Participate in stewardship work to include prescribed fire, invasive/exotic species control, and trail maintenance. Maintain a valid vehicle operator's license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment. Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid steer, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures, and policies. May oversee a seasonal crew engaged in maintenance tasks. Physical Strength and Agility:
Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work. This position requires you to obtain and maintain drinking water and wastewater certifications. If you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license / certification. Equivalent to those typically gained by : Four to six years of on-the-job training/experience in any of the following trade areas: building, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, or mechanical trades (Education may be substituted for experience.) Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
