POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Foreman, the Public Works Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks for the City, including maintenance and repair of City streets, sidewalks, rights-of-way, and other assignments relevant to overall department operations
PAY RANGE
$17.12 / Hour - $24.40 / Hour
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs general road maintenance and related activities including temporary and permanent asphalt repairs, patching potholes, sealing road cracks, sawing pavement, and concrete repairs/pouring. Assists with mowing, trimming, vegetation control, and clearing brush and trees. Performs activities related to snow cleanup which includes the operation of a snowplow truck during snow events, spreading chemicals (such as salt), and shoveling as assigned. Completes work orders, daily activity reports, inspection reports, and time sheets, and maintains maintenance and service logs. Operates light trucks and equipment to haul materials to work sites. Performs street sign maintenance, including replacement and repair of "stop" signs, "speed limit" signs, "no parking" signs, and "do not enter" signs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
At least one (1) year of experience in the construction trade and at least one (1) year of lead worker experience. High School Education or
GED. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Employee is frequently required to walk and bend, use hands to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Duties may occur during extreme weather and the employee must be able to carry out the assignment during such weather.
