Non-Exempt Summary Provides technical expertise and manual skill in the inspection, servicing, and repair of the buildings, grounds, equipment, and furnishings To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform maintenance duties. Install equipment. Repair structures, windows, doors, equipment, and furnishings. Take the initiative to perform routine responsibilities independently. Keep the Facilities Manager informed about ongoing activities/emerging issues. Advance the district's professional image. Maintain open/effective communications. Use problem-solving techniques to tactfully address and resolve questions/concerns. Comply with safety and environmental regulations. Assist with snow removal operations as directed. Perform routine preventive maintenance activities (e.g., lubricates moving parts, replaces filters, cleans equipment, adjusts/replaces belts, changes oil, prepares items for storage, etc.). Pick-up and deliver equipment, materials, and other supplies as directed. Take the appropriate action to protect district property. Ensure that assigned buildings and job sites are secured at the end of the day. Respond to emergencies as needed. Work with staff to manage or eliminate risk factors. Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information. Strive to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others. Perform other specific job-related duties as directed. Supervisory Duties None Qualifications Education/Experience Certificates, Licenses, Registrations High school diploma. Post-secondary training in a trade is desirable. Valid Missouri Motor Vehicle License. Meets all mandated health screening requirements Skills and Abilities Embody high ethical standards and integrity. Accept responsibility for decisions and conduct. Comply with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures. Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team. Skill/experience in maintenance/repair procedures (e.g., mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, etc.). Multi-school or closely related building maintenance experience Language Includes reading, writing, and speaking. Computation Math skills Reasoning This section includes skills such as investigating and fact gathering, problem-solving and the employee's ability to interpret and follow directions. Technology The district should include any hardware or software the employee will be required to use as well as the proficiency level involved. Be as specific as possible. Physical Demands Balancing, bending, climbing, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and/or standing. Exposure to adverse weather conditions and temperature extremes. Exposure to air-borne particulates, chemical irritants, combustible materials, electrical hazards, equipment vibrations, noises, and odors. Exposure to wet and/or slippery surfaces. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens and communicable diseases. Lift, carry, and move work-related supplies/equipment. Operate and/or ride in a vehicle. Perform tasks that require strenuous physical exertion. Travel to meetings and work assignments. Work at various heights, in confined spaces, and/or in variable/diminished lighting. Work in proximity to moving mechanical parts. Attendance Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
