About the
Role:
Gainesville Health Care Center's Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing facility's operational efficiency by assisting with the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment. This position ensures that all production tools and systems are functioning optimally to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The Maintenance Assistant collaborates closely with the maintenance team to identify issues, perform routine inspections, and execute minor repairs under supervision. By maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and reporting potential problems, this role contributes to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. Ultimately, the Maintenance Assistant helps sustain a productive and safe work environment that supports the company's manufacturing goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures. Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting, standing, and working in various environments. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior maintenance staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment. Basic certification or coursework in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical trades. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and tools. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operation. Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify wear, malfunctions, or safety hazards and report findings promptly. Maintain accurate logs and documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area.

The Maintenance Assistant utilizes mechanical and electrical knowledge daily to assist in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations. Communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with the maintenance team and reporting maintenance needs clearly.
