Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will support the upkeep and smooth operation of our residential or commercial properties by performing a variety of maintenance tasks. Your energetic approach and technical expertise will ensure that all facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, tenants, or staff. Responsibilities Assist with routine maintenance and repairs across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry systems to ensure optimal facility operation. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues related to electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and mechanical equipment. Conduct residential painting projects, touch-ups, and surface preparations to maintain aesthetic standards. Operate tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical faults accurately. Support welding tasks and mechanical repairs as needed, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met. Collaborate with team members and residents to deliver excellent customer service while addressing maintenance requests promptly. Follow safety procedures diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all tasks. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within manufacturing, residential, or commercial environments. Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and mechanical components is essential. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), welding techniques, and electrical troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters. Supervising or leadership experience in maintenance teams is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
