Insurance package mandatory retirement plan dependent partial tuition waiver faculty/staff tuition waiver wellness program: The Maintenance Worker I will assist in the repair, maintenance, construction, and remodel of grounds, buildings, equipment, and infrastructure by completing a variety manual and semi-skilled labor. This position will provide labor support to the groundskeeper, carpenter, custodial staff, and plant technicians. This person must also be able to work with and supervise a variety of student workers. May also be asked to assist in office moves, set-up, events and or deliveries. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities The ability to work within the greater maintenance team. Tasks may change daily due to staffing and campus requirements. Being flexible due the circumstances is needed. To work with and manage student workers. Part of our job is teaching and mentoring young adults for their daily tasks as well as the future. Other seasonal work may include shoveling snow, using equipment, setting up for all manner of events (indoor & outdoor), cleaning after such events, and the general presentation of our campus. Having the willingness to help out across the board and do other duties as asked. Essentially being an active team player. Use of equipment such as a fork-lift, man-lift and lawn mowers preferred. Must be willing to step in and help the custodial crew when needed. Class sizes are small and students take a single course at a time, three hours each day for 18 days, before moving on to the next course.
