KALISPELL, MT The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. The new Flathead Valley Reentry Center (FVRC) plays an integral role in shaping the way we deliver structure and accountability while supporting success for residents returning to their community at this first-ever, DOC-owned and operated prerelease center. Join our team as a Maintenance Worker and play a vital role in keeping the Flathead Valley Reentry Center secure and operational. In this position you'll perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks to ensure our buildings, grounds, and equipment remain in top condition. From carpentry and painting to mechanical and preventative upkeep, your work will directly support a safe environment for staff, offenders, and the community. Inspect, test, and adjust facility systems, including pumps, alarms, gauges, heating and cooling units, and electrical components. Notify licensed trades or contractors when specialized work is required. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, structures, and equipment. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including supply requests, duty logs, vehicle reports, and equipment check-outs. Contribute to a culture of safety by following proper procedures and supporting facility security standards.QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to: High school graduation or equivalent. Two years of experience in light duty construction or maintenance including preventative maintenance. Two years of basic blueprint drawing or reading is preferred. Ability to obtain a low-pressure boiler license within one year of employment. Must have and maintain a Montana driver's license in good standing. Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.BENEFITS
