Position:
Saint Ignatius High School, a highly successful Jesuit college preparatory school for boys in grades 6-12 located in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an experienced, full-time Maintenance Associate to support and manage physical plant operations across a 25-acre campus in the Ohio City neighborhood. The campus includes 20 buildings ranging in age from newly constructed facilities to structures more than 140 years old. We are seeking a Maintenance Associate to work with our Maintenance Team performing a variety of duties ranging from general labor to assisting Maintenance Technicians, Groundskeeping and Events personnel with various tasks. While this is not a technical position, basic knowledge of common tools and how to use them along with general repair knowledge is required. Further, the successful candidate must be able to understand direction and work independently to complete tasks as well as anticipate additional tasks that need to be performed. This position is also responsible for weekly maintenance for our fleet of approximately 10 school vehicles (checking/filling gas, oil, washer fluid) as well as keeping them clean inside and out. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License and meet school insurability requirements as operating school vehicles is an essential part of this role This is a full-time, non exempt, year round position with standard hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with periodic requirement to flex hours to support evening and weekend events. Some overtime (coming in early/staying late/weekends) can be expected. This position reports to the Director of Campus Operations or designee.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
Assist Maintenance Technicians as requested, including but not limited to Running errands, assisting with repairs, setting up projects, cleaning up after projects Assist Facilities and Events team with setups, resets and tear downs Assist Groundskeeping with campus clean up, snow removal and other tasks General Labor Furniture moving Hauling and disposing trash/recyclables at designated locations Light plumbing (e.g. plunging toilets) Light HVAC (e.g. changing filters) Light mechanical (repairing equipment, cleaning equipment, etc.) Assist custodial team with major cleaning projects (floors, deep clean, etc.) Fleet Maintenance Twice weekly checks of school vehicles (gas, oil, fluids); interior and exterior cleaning of school vehicles
Qualifications:
High school diploma 3 years of related work experience Professional/appropriate appearance Ability to communicate effectively and clearly Self-starter, demonstrable work ethic, willingness to do what it takes to get the job done Ability to problem solve and think independently Willingness to learn new skills General knowledge of common tools and how to use them properly Must be able to navigate 25-acre campus on foot, climb up to 6 flights of stairs and handle moderate physical labor without difficulty Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License and meet school insurability requirements as operating school vehicles is an essential part of this role

Saint Ignatius High School, which opened its doors September 6, 1886, is a Jesuit college-preparatory school. The school enrolls more than 1,400 young men. Academically, Saint Ignatius is a regional and state leader in National Merit finalists.
