Job Description

The purpose of this position is to maintain City grounds, right of ways, and facilities, roadways, drainage, and/or install and repair City stormwater infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Digs holes, installs piping, and performs debris removal after job is complete. Loads truck with supplies and materials needed to complete the job. Provides catch basin maintenance as needed. Clear Right of Way by performing landscaping as needed per job.
Supplemental Functions:
Performs other similar duties as required.
Job Specifications and Qualifications:
Knowledge:
Machinery and hand tools of the trade Utility construction
Licensing and Certifications:
Valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class require: standing, fine dexterity, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, climbing, vision, foot controls, balancing, bending, crouching, hearing, twisting, and talking.
Very Heavy:
Exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, 50 - 100 pounds frequently, or from 20 up to 50 pounds constantly. Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, respiratory hazards, noise and vibration, and physical hazards.
