Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and dependable Porter/Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities. Your energetic approach will ensure that all areas are kept in top condition, creating a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our facility through hands-on maintenance and custodial tasks, supporting a positive and productive workplace atmosphere. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across various areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces, utilizing commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums. Handle custodial tasks with precision, including waste disposal, dusting, window cleaning, and surface sanitation to uphold high hygiene standards. Conduct routine maintenance inspections and address minor repairs to ensure facilities remain safe and functional. Safely handle chemical agents used for cleaning and maintenance, following all safety protocols and handling instructions. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using proper techniques to prevent injury while moving furniture, supplies, or equipment. Support industrial cleaning projects and residential painting tasks as needed to maintain facility aesthetics. Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, maintenance activities, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with company policies. Requirements Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong understanding of commercial or industrial cleaning procedures. Familiarity with the use of floor buffers, buffing machines, and other custodial equipment. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to safety guidelines and handling instructions. Physical stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is highly desirable. Knowledge of safe lifting practices to prevent injuries during heavy lifting activities. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards and safety compliance.
