PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER - SEASONAL

The Hunterdon County Division of Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications for four seasonal full-time Laborer positions. Laborers will be based out of the Arboretum in Clinton Township, NJ. Employees may also be required to report to other Hunterdon County Park locations on a daily basis.

Dates:

Monday, June 1 through Friday, August 14, 2026, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, flexible start and end dates may be accommodated based on applicant availability and division needs.

Qualifications:

Must be a New Jersey Resident. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by time of employment. Must be comfortable working outdoors, regardless of weather conditions. Valid NJ driver's license required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Trail/grounds maintenance including but not limited to: o Clearing vegetation o Mowing (training provided) o Weed trimming o Assist full-time staff with tree removals o Maintain equipment o Pest control o Athletic field maintenance
• Parks facility repairs and maintenance including but not limited to: o Painting o Cleaning o Minor building repairs
• Garden maintenance including but not limited to: o Weeding o Mulching o Plantings o Edging
• Set-ups and breakdowns for programs, permits and special events.
• Empty trash / recycling receptacles in various parks, as well as pick up any litter
• Clean and sanitize buildings, vehicles, restrooms, and high-touch surfaces
• Assist full-time naturalist and recreation staff with other projects as needed

Salary:

$18.00 per hour.
